After a long hot summer there is an eagerness to close swimming pools down too early. We have had some warm weather in October and closing your pool down too early may have consequences come early spring. You may need to add more algicide or use a floating dispenser if we have a mild winter.

Now that October is nearly behind us and cold weather is forecast going forward, it is the ideal time to close your pool down. We have a number of winter chemical kits that are suitable for most pool sizes. Cleaning the pool and balancing the pH prior to adding shock and winter algicides will make all the difference.
