Take an accurate reading of the free chlorine level or available bromine to discover the amount of sanitiser that needs to be removed from the pool or hot tub.

To reduce CHLORINE level, the dosing rate is 7gms of Fi-Clor Chlorine / Bromine Reducer per 1m³ (1,000 litres / 220 gallons) of water for every 1mg/l (ppm) of chlorine to be reduced. For the fair sized swimming pool of 50m³ (50,000 litres / 11,000 gallons), 350gof the product will reduce the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm)

To reduce the BROMINE level, the dose rate is 3gms of Fi-Clor Chlorine / Bromine Reducer per 1m³ (1,000 litres / 220 gallons) of water for every 1mg/l (ppm) of bromine to be reduced. For an average sized hot tub of 1.5m³ (1,500 litres / 330 gallons), 4.5g of the product will reduce the bromine level by 1mg/l (ppm).

To achieve the best results, it is advised to  distribute the product evenly around the pool or hot tub. Leave at least 2 hours before re-testing and making any further changes to the water if required.

It is very important to under-dose rather than over-dose, as too much Fi-Clor Chlorine & Bromine Reducer can produce a chlorine / bromine demand that may cause overdosing again.

Depending on the how it is used to dose your swimming pool or hot tub, HTH pH Minus Micro-Balls 5kg will lower either the pH or the Total Alkalinity in the water. High pH will cause cloudy water and can be a factor in scale formation. High pH may also reduce the sanitisation effectiveness of chlorine. Swimming Pool & Hot Tub water with a high alkalinity reading will be difficult to lower the pH as any chemicals designed to lower pH will automatically will be used up by the buffering action of the alkalinity.

Test your pool water using your prefered testing method. If higher than 7.6 you will need to lower it

With the pumps and filtration running, sprinkle the amount suggested on the label of HTH pH Minus Micro-Balls 5kg evenly around the pool, avoiding the skimmer areas. Do not dose more than 500g at any one time. If more than 500g is required repeat the process after 24 hours.

Leave the filtration running and re-check the pH levels after 24 hours. If required redose with HTH pH Minus Micro-Balls 5kg

Instructions To Correct High Alkalinity Levels in Swimming Pools or Hot Tubs using HTH pH Minus Micro-Balls 5kg

Calculate your pool water volume, if in doubt call us and we can advise you.

Test your pool water using your preferred testing method. If the Total Alkalinity reading is higher than 150 mg/l (ppm) you will need to lower it.

With the Pump & Filtration OFF pour 1kg, in 200g increments, into one area at the deepest end of the pool, away from the skimmers. Each 1 kg dose should reduce the Alkalinity levels by 10-20 mg/l  (ppm)

After 24 hours re-test the swimming pool or hot tub and if the Total Alkalinity reading is still above 150 ppm then repeat the dose until the level is correct.

Fi-Clor Spa Non-Chlorine Shock is the ideal water treatment to shock Spas. Fi-Clor Non-Chlorine Shock works on Spas using both Bromine or Chlorine. No pre-dissolving, this product rapidly dissolves to break down pollutants in the water.

Fi-Clor Spa Bromine Granules can be used in conjunction with bromine tablets to boost the bromine levels or as the sole sanatiser. The granules are fast dissolving so can be added straight into the spa water.
